About Christian Counselling
Wherever you find yourself at this time, my hope is to meet you ‘where you are at’. Christian Counselling can mean a number of different things for example
The most important thing is that you find the help that is right for you.
I was trained at CWR Waverley Training, Farnham in an Integrative Model of Counselling and I have a Christian worldview. My clients include both Christians and non Christians and I consider this an immense privilege. At no point will I impose my views on any subject on you. Indeed I am bound by the ethical framework of the professional bodies to which I belong – the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Counselling Society (CS)
During counselling the focus is on you and on your journey. We will only go down the roads that you wish to go down and whether you are a Christian or not the pace, length and content of the journey is your choice. As a Counsellor I am here to empower you and help you find resources within yourself. I treat every person as a unique individual with intrinsic worth. Everyone’s life story is important and I tailor the way I work to suit your needs – always sensitively and respectfully. We will look at your relationships past and present – counselling is about your life journey and your response to the various events that happen along the way.
It takes great courage to ask for help. The fact that you have found this site means you have already taken the steps in realising counselling is something you may need.
I work on a one-to-one basis and the issues I cover include relational difficulties, stress, grief, anxiety, self esteem, bereavement and loss. The information here will give you an insight into what Counselling involves as well as the way that I work. Hopefully this will enable you to take the next steps in seeking some professional help and finding the right Counsellor to work with.
